Coastal Cuisine. Local Ritual. A family-run fixture on the San Francisco waterfront since 1985. Pier 23 Cafe is the Embarcadero's seafood restaurant and bar with a back patio on the bay. Most people come for the Fish & Chips or the Fish Tacos with an easy, unhurried afternoon; everyone comes for the view. The kitchen thrums like a chowder house serving San Francisco seafood and cocktails Wednesday through Monday from 11:30 a.m. Bottomless mimosas, $25 a person for an hour, Saturday and Sunday. Happy hour is 4 to 6, Monday and Wednesday through Friday. Live music most nights. Walk-ins welcome or reserve on OpenTable. Dog and family friendly, with a kids' menu. A short walk from Fisherman's Wharf, the Ferry Building and the Exploratorium.
