Amina School of Belly Dance and Drum

Calliope Dance Studio offers a safe and joyful environment for children to experience high quality dance education. We focus on combining different techniques and styles of dance and movement for children to experience the full potential of their expressive and functional bodies, with classes that follow a different lesson plan each week. Our curriculum is based on in-depth research about dance and movement education for what is needed at each specific childhood developmental stage. We follow a holistic approach based in Somatic Movement Education and Childhood Developmental Movement Therapy. With the somatic model for children’s dance education that we follow at Calliope, we encourage the development of the whole child.

Our goal is to instill discipline within Bollywood dance and encourage our students to commit to their craft. Becoming a GREAT dancer takes consistency, time, and commitment. As an academy, we truly challenge every single student to go above and beyond. Our goal is to bring higher level dancing to communities across the United States. We are currently in 6 cities and 3 states. Our BDC family is only as strong as it is with our dedicated parents, instructors, and managers
