About

Petits Pas Studio is a welcoming dance and performing arts studio in San Francisco’s Glen Park neighborhood, offering ballet, modern, contemporary dance, theater, and camps for children, teens, and adults. Founded by artistic director Virginie Personne, Petits Pas combines strong technique with creativity, confidence, and a love of performing. Our signature is our original dance and theater productions, where students come together each year to bring imaginative stories to life through dance, theater, music, costumes, and visual storytelling. A close-knit, family-oriented studio where every student is known, supported, and encouraged to grow as an artist and performer.

We focus on combining different techniques and styles of dance and movement for children to experience the full potential of their expressive and functional bodies, with classes that follow a different lesson plan each week. Our curriculum is based on in-depth research about dance and movement education for what is needed at each specific childhood developmental stage. We follow a holistic approach based in Somatic Movement Education and Childhood Developmental Movement Therapy. With the somatic model for children’s dance education that we follow at Calliope, we encourage the development of the whole child.
